Kopenio downloading supporting info instead of main paper and other issues

Even though I am signed in through my university and using it at the campus, Kopernio is not downloading the main paper but rather the supporting info or the free versions which I can directly download from anywhere without using Kopernio. Also, when I'm removing that wrong journal and trying to redownload the correct version, it's showing an error that the pdf has been removed and not downloading the right version of the paper.

Hi Sthitadhi,

Could you share the DOI or URL of the paper in question so that our team can investigate what's going on?

Thank you for bearing with us while we fix this.

Many thanks,

Ben

Hello Ben,

Thank you for your reply. Here are few of these links.

https://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/ct400730n

This one only downloads the free version (and when I deleted this from the archive, I'm unable to download to my locker)9fe01025c7c62b4ac4edbf733fe60eaf

This second one is downloading the supporting info instead of the main paper.

Finally, I'm attaching another screenshot of the error in my account which I'm unable to remove. This issue is about Kopernio not being able to store my credentials so that I can access the journals out of campus.

Thanks!

Hi Sthitadhi,

Thank you for taking the time to share these screenshots and the extra information.

1) Kopernio can find the published full-text here https://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/ct400730n and the published erratum here: https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs.jctc.6b01188. I found it by clicking on the banner about the correction (located just above the title). Please let me know if you run into the same error message when trying to adding it to your Locker again.

2) I've shared the information with our engineering team, who will start working on a fix. You are absolutely correct, Kopernio should deliver the full-text paper, not the SI.

3) Have you saved your university credentials via Kopernio in the past? If you leave the checkbox ticked, and save your credentials next time when you're off-campus, the reminder should disappear. Please let me know if that is not the case.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Best,

Virag

Hello Virag,

Thanks for considering this problem. It's not solved yet. I'm still facing the same issues. Also, I checked that box but when I went out of campus, it's somehow doesn't save the credentials even after entering them when prompted. I hope this bug will be fixed.

Sincerely,

Sthitadhi

Hi Sthitadhi,

The 2nd issue (Kopernio serving the support information instead of the article) was resolved.

The open-access database that Kopernio searches for PDFs had the incorrect document with the DOI 10.1021/jacs.9b09002. They removed this document from their database. Please note, this paper is now only available through subscription.

If you could please delete the file from your Locker, you will be able to access the full-text article.

I tried to reproduce the 1st issue, but I couldn't. I wonder if you could please try to add the PDFs to your Locker again?

Full-text https://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/ct400730n erratum: https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs.jctc.6b01188

That Kopernio served you the OA version rather than the publisher one, and the repeated reauthentication requests indicate a potential broken integration with your library. Our engineering team will investigate this issue further, and I will keep this post updated.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
