FIX BROKEN LINK

Solved

Kull's article is NOT attached to his PDF. This is an ongoing problem w/Endnote that I never had w/Endnote's predecessor. It's exhausting, frustrating, irritating, & time consuming. Time I don't have & am fairly certain no one else does either. So, Endnote, get it fixed! NOW.

Hi Denise,

Thanks for taking the time to report this.

My understanding based on your note is:

(1) You exported a reference + PDF via EndNote Click (Formerly Kopernio) to you EndNote Desktop

(2) Only the reference was exported, it failed to export the PDF along with the reference

Is that correct? If not, can you please confirm what the issue is?

Best,

Virag

Hi Virag,

I was doing a literature search on Google Scholar. Kull's article was one of the choices & I chose it. The abstract opened as well as showing me an endnote PDF link. When I clicked on the PDF link for Kull's article, it opened an article by Lewis. I need Kull's PDF since I already have Lewis. Can you make it so Kull's article opens on the endnote PDF link? If so, that's great! And thank you for fixing it so quickly!

Hi Denise,

Can you please share the following details:

- Your EndNote Click version (You can find it in the top left corner of the account settings page here: https://kopernio.com/settings)

- The DOI/full title of the article you tried to access

I will then be able to try to reproduce the issue and see what goes wrong.

Best,

Virag

Kull K. (2018) On the Logic of Animal Umwelten: The Animal Subjective Present and Zoosemiotics of Choice and Learning. In: Marrone G., Mangano D. (eds) Semiotics of Animals in Culture. Biosemiotics, vol 17. Springer, Cham. https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-72992-3_10 is the article Reference listing. I did the EndNote Click version & came up with the same Lewis article listed as: Lewis, A. Total Umwelten Create Shared Meaning the Emergent Properties of Animal Groups as a Result of Social Signalling. Biosemiotics 13, 431–441 (2020). https://doi.org/10.1007/s12304-020-09395-8

Hi Denise

Thanks for your replies.

Unfortunately, I can't reproduce your error.

Can you please share the EndNote Click version number from your account settings page https://kopernio.com/settings?

EndNote Click Plugin v1.0.6

I hope that's what you meant? If not, let me know where I need to look to find the click number.

Oh, FYI: I thought you fixed the problem because I was able to get a copy of the Kull's PDF. Let me know if I can do anything to help. I'm here until you don't need me :).

Hi Denise,

You have the latest plugin version.

Glad to hear you could access the article now. As I couldn't reproduce the error (I got the correct article) I will close this thread as solved.

Thanks for your help and do let us now if you ever run into errors or need help.

Best wishes,

Virag
