Proxy server URL prevents Kopernio from working

Solved

Our school uses the WebBridge proxy server to authenticate users for off-campus access. URLs are rewritten to incorporate reference to the proxy server. This appears to prevent Kopernio from working (I tried searching within SpringerLink, ScienceDirect, and Web of Science platforms). I'm on campus.

Unproxied URL - https://link.springer.com/article/10.1023/A%3A1009268815430 (works fine)

Proxied URL - https://link-springer-com.nuncio.cofc.edu/article/10.1023/A%3A1009268815430 (no Kopernio PDF link shows).

Hi - Just a little more info: The name of the proxy server product from Innovative Interfaces is WAM: Web Access Management. WebBridge is their OpenURL linking product. In the example Geoff gives above, the proxied url should be:

https://0-link-springer-com.nuncio.cofc.edu/article/10.1023/A%3A1009268815430

I think it is the leading 0- that is missing.

WAM looks for http to https redirects and inserts the dashes (rather than dots) on the fly so that

https://0-link.springer.com.nuncio.cofc.edu/article/10.1023/A%3A1009268815430

becomes

https://0-link-springer-com.nuncio.cofc.edu/article/10.1023/A%3A1009268815430

I'm a librarian at the University of Arkansas and if you need a tester or more information I would be happy to work with you. Lots of academic libraries still use WAM instead of EZProxy so it would be good to figure out how to make it work with a service like Kopernio.

Many thanks for the detailed feedback. We're looking into it.

I'll get in touch if we need further information and when we're ready for testing.

Same goes for the Lean Library extention, that forces every url via the proxy server of the library... the urls then just are not " hazzed"

Thanks for your patience with this one! As of Kopernio version 0.2.106 released on 11 July, Kopernio supports support most proxified pages. Our coverage isn't perfect yet, but most proxied URLs should work as expected.
