Import pdf into endnote library's .Data folder

I found it really useful that after downloading RIS from the export reference button, I can open it in Endnote and the pdf will be automatically attached. However, the pdf is stored in a separate folder (e.g. Downloads/Kopernio) instead of where Endnote library's .Data folder. So after I clear my Downloads folder, all the pdfs were gone.

Please add a function so that pdfs will be saved in the endnote library's .Data folder.

I think this is really important too! PDFs imported this way do not sync to EndNote Online either.

We are working on a more seamless EndNote integration and hopefully, we can share positive updates on this feature soon. It's definitely on our roadmap! 🙂

In the meantime, you might find this step-by-step guide to changing your browser's download settings helpful:

This feature is now available to EndNote X9.2 users.

Thank you for that change. How can I move the PDFs that were stored in the Kopernio folder before you changed this into the Endnote DATA folder? I have a couple hundred of those...

Hi Tore,

Thank you for reaching out.

Unfortunately, there isn't a function to move all PDFs to the EndNote Library Data folder and attach to the corresponding reference.

I appreciate this is not the most convenient solution, but maybe you could try to import the Kopernio downloads folder to a new EndNote library.

Best,

Virag
