De Silva and Kharadkar reach Girls Doubles final at ITF J60
Dinara de Silva of Sri Lanka and Pehal Kharadkar of India secured their place in the Girls Doubles final at the ITF World Junior J60 Tennis Tournament at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts in Colombo yesterday.
The pair overcame Hima Fernando of Great Britain and Oneli Samarawickrama of Sri Lanka in a hard-fought semi-final match. De Silva and Kharadkar edged out their opponents with a scorecard of 6-7, 2-6, 10-8.
In the Girls Singles semi-finals, Stefi Marithe Aludo of the Philippines triumphed over Priyanka Rana of the USA with a score of 3-6, 5-2 after Rana retired from the match. Tennielle Madis of the Philippines also made it to the final, defeating Sohini Mohanty of India with a commanding 5-0, 6-1 score.
In the Boys Singles semi-finals, Germany’s Roman Kulpin advanced after defeating Ruochen Gao of China with a score of 6-3, 2-6, 5-1, when Gao retired. Tavish Pahwa of India also progressed to the final by beating Luke Koh of Singapore 7-5, 7-6.
