Best Dominoes Set for Beginners and Collectors?

I’m looking for some advice on choosing a set. I’m new to the game and want something beginner-friendly, but I also appreciate quality craftsmanship and style, as I’d like to eventually collect a dominoes set.

Should I go for a traditional double-six or something more advanced like a double-nine or double-twelve set? I’m also curious about materials—are wooden sets better than plastic or resin ones? Any recommendations for a set that strikes a good balance between playability and aesthetics?
